DEAN’S RESIGNATION SOUGHT? WAIKATO DIOCESE UNREST (From Our Oven Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Thursday. Rumours are current that efforts are being made to induce Dean G. R. Barnett to resign from his position of vicar of St. Peter’s Cathedral Parish. A meeting of the Cathedral Chapter was held last evening. Asked to-day the result of the deliberations, several chapter members —including those who were opposed to ritual and also to the ministration of Bishop Cherrington—stated that they had nothing to say. The Bishop informed a Sun man that he had heard some parishioners desired the Dean to resign but the latter’s appointment had nothing to do with him.
