GOOD FRUIT PRICES

POULTRY IN DEMAND VEGETABLES IN AMPLE SUPPLY A slight improvement was shown in the City Markets this morning in the demand for dessert apples. Sales of oranges have slowed up this week. Cooking apples are in steady demand but pears are still very slow on the markets. Banana repacks have advanced, but lemons are easier in value. Most lines of vegetables are in ample supply, and there is a keen demand. To-day’s poultry auction was well supplied and birds met with keen competition. Values were very firm, at late quotations. The supply of cockerels has decreased and prices have hardened. Hens and ducks were in demand, but there was no notable change in values. In the small stock market, pigs were in good supply and prices were satisfactory.
