AUCKLAND CLUB'S SHOW OPENED THIS AFTERNOON Record entries are a feature of the annual show of the Auckland Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Club, which opened this afternoon in Sco'j Hall, Symonds Street. During the Great Wax. the club became defunct, but the event beginning this afternoon makes the third annual show since the club was re-formed. Greater success than ever has been reached, and the entries in all classes total 681—a record for this time of year. Judges say that the types of bird shown are the best they have seen this year. This evening, at S o'clock. R. Hutchison, chib patron, will open the show officially. It will remain open to 10 p.m. To-morrow it opens at 11 a.m., and will end at 10 p.m. BEST RACING CROFTS Some of New Zealand’s best racing pigeon crofts are represented, and in the flying bird classes variety is apparent, and the quality of the exhibited birds excellent.
