AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS Auctioneers report on stock sales held throughout the district during the past week as follows: Alfred Buckland and Sons, Limited, reP 0 the week we held sales at Westfield, Pukekohe twice, Tuakau, pig sale at Tuakau, and clearing sales. There were average yardings for the time of season. Pat and store cattle sold at ruling rates, as also did pigs. There is a slight easing in the demand for dairy stock. Best dairy cows made £l4 to £l7 10s; good cows, £lO 10s to £l3 10s; second grade, £6 to £9; aged and inferior, £3 10s to £5 15s; best springing heifers. £lO to £ls; average heifers, £7 to £9 10s; other heifers, £5 10s to £6 15s; empty young cows, £3 10s to £5; store cows, £1 15s to £3 7s 6d; prime young fat cows and heifers, £7 to £9 15s* lighter cows and heifers. £5 to £6 17s 6d : boner cows, £2 10s to £5; fat steers, £9 10s to £l2 7s 6d; well-bred yearling dairy heifers. £3 15s to £5 12s 6d; other heifers, £w 10s to £3 12s Gd; grown steers, in forward condition, £7 15s to £9; three to four-year-old steers, £6 10s to £7 12s 6d; two to three-year-old steers, £4 15s to £6 7s 6d; yearling to IS-month-old steers, £3 to £4 10s; cows with calves, £4 10s to £8 ss; heavy bulls, £6 10s to £S 12s 6d; sound young herd bulls £6 6s to £lO 10s; other bulls £2 10s to £5 ss. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports:— Sales Avere held during the past week at Westfield, Kaukapakapa and Waiuku, also two clearing sales. one on account of Messrs. Joblin Brothers at Kaukapakapa, and the other on account of Mr. W. Blair, of Takanini. The demand for dairy cows and heifers remains keen, and we report good sales for these, and all other classes of cattle, selling readily at late rates. At Waiuku, dairy heifers realised up to £l7 ss, and at Mr. Blair’s, Takanini, cows realised up to £2l 10s, the whole herd of 55 cows averaging £ll 15s 6d. JERSEY BREEDERS MEET (From Our Oivn Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, Wednesday. At the first annual meeting of the Dargaville Jersey Cattle and Industrial Associtaion the report recorded a most satisfactory year. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, the Prime Minister, Rt Bon. J. G. Coates; president, Mr. F. A. Jones: vice-presidents. Bon. C .T. Carrington. Messrs. G. N. Bayes, G. B. Wansbone. F. J. Dargaville, B. B. Tonkin and R. E. Clements; auditor. Mr. B. S. Angus; treasurer, Mr. R. E. Clements. Mr. J. P. Stanaway declined reelection as secretary, and the matter of the appointment was left to the incoming executive. Mr. Stanaway was accorded a vote of thanks for his good work. A general committee of some 60 members was also elected.
