INCIPIENT FIRE
GOOD WORK BY BRIGADE (From Our Own Correspondent.) PAPATOETOE, To-day. The members of the Papatoetoe Fire Brigade, under Superintendent Bradley, made a good save when the residence of Mr. E. J. Bennett, Cornwall Road, Papatoetoe, caught fire last evening. A fire had been burning in the sit-ting-room grate for some time, and the overheating of the hearth ignited the floor joist. The outbreak was discovered before the fire had got a good hold, and the prompt arrival of the fire brigade prevented much damage being done.
