BIRTHDAY DANCE

A delightful evening was spent In the Dominion Road Bowling pavilion on Saturday when Mr. and Mrs. S. Hawken, of Mount Eden, entertained a number of young friends at a dance to celebrate the birthday of their daughter, Margaret. The hall was attractively decorated with streamers and multi-coloured balloons. Mrs. Hawken received her guests In a frock of black satin beaute relieved with gold lace. A black shawl completed her toilette. Miss Margaret Hawken wore a dainty frock of night green taffeta relieved with silver lace and diamante, and a white shawl. Among those present were: Mrs. Walter Shepley, blue taffeta and gold lace with pink shawl. Airs. Stephenson, black satin beaute and silver lace. Mrs. Peckham, silver tissue and handpainted organdie. Mrs. Kelly, black georgette and silver lace. Mrs. Sessions, black crepe de chine and gold lace. Miss Mollie Kelly, pink crepe de chine. Miss Eileen Cole, pink taffeta and silMiss Cynthia Green, crepe de chine, shawl to tone. Miss Mary McShane, pink georgette and chiffon velvet. Miss Nancy Lee, night blue taffeta and rose trimmings. Miss Nora McShane, pink crepe de chine. Mis Eileen Sessions, pink taffeta and silver lace. Miss Elva Hill, brown crepe de chine, flora] trimmings. Miss Dulcie Smith, pink crepe de chine. Miss Nancy Baker, lemon taffetas and gold lace. Miss Kath Baker, blue taffeta and silver lace. Miss May McDonald, green taffeta, shawl to tone. Miss Rona McLeay, dainty ecru lace frock.
