DOUBLE FEATURE BILL “The Desert Woman,” the picture to be shown at the Lyric Theatre this evening l , stars Irene Rich in a new role, that of a London society girl out in India. A belle of London society, Lady Diana had tossed over her whole world of gay pleasures to follow her soldier husband to a dreary outpost in the Indian desert. And there her husband proved to be a dull companion. Lady Diana was ill from sheer ennui, until young Lieutenant Larry came out to India. This boy lieutenant, still with the eager glow of the London social world about him, pictured to Lady Diana the life they could again enjoy together, far from the desert heat of the army outpost in India, where they were, both burning out their lives, while her Husband, the commanding officer, was off with his troops. “Reckless Speed,” the second attraction to be shown, is said to be one of the most thrilling pictures ever filmed. The star is Frank Merrill, who is called upon to us© all his marvellous strength in the many cyclonic situations which are hazardous in the extreme.
