EDUCATION BOARD ELECTIONS HELD TO-DAY
LITTLE COMPETITION
School committee members are engaged to-day in electing new member* of the Auckland Education Board. In a number of cases only one candidate has been nominated for a district, and elections are necessary only in the Auckland urban area, and the west ward of the rural area. The members are elected by members of school committees. The results will not be available before August 1, allowing of time for outside returns to be received. For the three vacancies in the urban area the six candidates are Isabella M. Ben fell, G. Brownlee, H. S. W. King, J. Purtell, R. A Rew, and T. U. Wells. There are two candidates for one vacancy in the west ward, J. Patterson, of Pukekohe, and J. Primrose, of Hamilton. Members returned unopposed are: Hamilton. F. A. Snell; North Ward, K.
