MEET AT KELLY’S CORNER HARES TOO GOOD FOR HOUNDS Thera was a bis field at the meet of the Fakuranga Hunt at Kelly’s Corner on Saturday. The going throughout was fairly good, but several heavy patches were encountered at times and were the cause of several empty saddles. Stonex property, over practically the same course, where it found shelter in some scrub Another quarry was soon raised on Messrs. man’s and Clapliam’s farms. It then took to the road and travelling: along Tamaki Road for some distance turned into Mr. C. Preston’s property and ran through Messrs. Stubbing’s, Watson’s. It circled back to Messrs. Stonex’ | farm, and again took to the road on j Redoubt Road, where it was lost in a • thick overgrown hedge. The last run of the day started in Mr. Gordon Gillard’s, and after a fast i run through the properties of Messrs, j Stubbings, Watts and Stonex Bros.. ! the hare found shelter on Mr. Baker’s'; farm. All tho hares encountered on Saturday were in good form and managed to elude the pack in each instance.
