HAMILTON NOTES (From Our Own C orrespondent.) Miss Molly Richards, of the staff of tho Te Kuiti Hospital, is spending a short holiday with her mother, Mrs. T. R. Richards, in Cambridge. * * * Mr. and Mrs. D. Craig, who are leaving Waitoa. were the guests of honour at a very jolly social and dance on Friday night. During supper Mr. F. W. Walters, on behalf of the settlers of the district, asked them .to accept a silver tea and coffee service, and oak tray, and their son, Mr. Alex Craig, a fine travelling rug. Mr. and Mrs. Craig and Mr. A. Craig have long been settlers in the district, and will be greatly missed. * * * Mrs. H. Boyes is a Rotorua visitor to Hamilton. * * * Mrs. F. M. Spencer, of Hamilton, went to the Upper Hutt last Sunday to stay with her mother, Mrs. E. M. Balcombe Brown, until she leaves for England early next year. * * * Mrs. J. Carthew, of New Plymouth, Is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. G. S. Crimp. * * * Miss Rawson, of Wellington, is at present visiting Hamilton. Mrs. S. H. Harold, of Rotorua, is visiting Hamilton. * * * Mrs. Fred Spencer, of Rotorua, is at present in Hamilton. Mrs. Cyril White, of Gisborne, is the guest of Mrs. Owen Monckton, River Road. Mrs. Noel Luker, of Taranaki, is a visitor to Cambridge. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Moss, of New Plymouth, and Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Bowie, of Christchurch, are staying at the Hamilton Hotel. Miss M. Bourke leaves to-night for a holiday in Christchurch. Mrs. Charles Gilmour, of Ngaruawahia, is visiting Rotorua. Air. and Mrs. G. Alderson, of Kauroa. Te Uuku, who are leaving the district, were the guests of honour at a very pleasant evening in the Memorial Hall, Te Uku, on Wednesday week. During the evening Mr. W. Wilson asked Mr. Alderson to accept a wallet of notes as a farewell gift from their friends in Te Uku. * * * Miss P. Fisher has been visiting her sister, Mrs. R. Alford, of Cambridge, and spent the week-end with Mrs. H. Valder, “Edgingthorpe,” Hamilton, before returning to the. South Island. * * * Mrs. H. Crust, Mrs. E. Boulton, Mrs. N. Wilks and Mrs. J. Ballin, are Christchurch visitors to Hamilton, to be present at the golden wedding, on July 16, of Mr. and Mrs. B. Ballin, of Christchurch. ! Home w r ere the guests of Mr. and Mr*. Bryant. The party was to mark the departure from Raglan of Miss M W. Miller and Miss A. S. Miller, who have been the joint matrons of the Bryant Home for convalescent children since its opening four years ago. The members of the board all spoke in the highest praise of the work done by them at the home, and the president, Mr. C. L. McDiarmid, handed to Miss W. M. Miller a letter of appreciation of the work that she and her sister had done. TJe also asked them to accept parting gifts from the board. READING CIRCLE On Tuesday evening the Reading Circle at the Lyceum Club read “The Unfair Sex,” by Eric Hudson. There was a largo attendance of members. They were: Mesdames Burley Toombs, Graham, E. CONGRATULATORY DINNER On Thursday evening members of tho ladies’ hockey team that last week w’on the provincial cup at the tournament in Auckland were the guests of tho officials of the Hamilton Ladies’ Hockey Association at a gay dinner party in tho Wattle tea-rooms. Congratulatory speeches were made by the president, Mrs. R. English, Mr. Fabling and Mr. H. Ross. Mr. W. Newell, as the father of three members of the team, and himself a great enthusiast of tho game, replied in an amusing speech. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. H. Old Girls’ Dance

At Hamilton ENJOYABLE REUNION On Saturday the Old Girls’ Association of Sonning held their annual reunion dance in the Assembly Hall of the Waikato Diocesan School. The hall looked delightful with its decorations of palm fronds, king ferns and cherry blossom. Mrs. Whitehorn. the hostess, received her guests wearing a model frock of mauve georgette and carrying an oldfashioned posy of violets. There were several debutantes, including:— Miss N.
