WARNING TO MARINERS npH E superintendent of Mercan--1 tile Marine, Auckland, reports that the scow Herald, with a cargo of coal is presumed to be adrift in a sinking condition in the Hauraki Gulf or beyond. She was last seen nine miles off Flat Rock, Kawau Island, at 9 a.m. on Saturday last, and was then drifting toward Great Barrier Island. A search for her has been unsuccessful. Masters of vessels are therefore warned she will, if still afloat, be a danger to navigation, and a sharp lookout should be kept for her.
