ROYAL, KINGSLAND
“TWO FLAMING YOUTHS” The merry comedy, “Two Flaming Youths,”’ starring W. C. Fields and Chester Conklin, will be shown tonight at the Royal Theatre, Kingsland. In this comedy, an amusing series of romantic and business complications, in which the owner of a circus sideshow and a small-town sheriff battle for the love of a wealthy widow, Fields and Conklin have roles well suited to their respective abilities at creating fun. Fields is the proprietor of the defunct circus, who is stranded with his menage of human oddities in a certain village. Conklin plays the sheriff with the big bluster and little intellect. “Arizona Bound,” starring Gary Cooper, is the second feature. The alluring Charmaine of “What Price Glory,” Dolores Del Rio, will be seen here shortly in a new role, that of Toni in “The Gateway of the Moon,” when this latest Fox feature comes to Auckland. This production, in which the beautiful Miss Del Rio is starred, is a colourful drama of the South American jungle, where white men are building a railroad at the cost of many native lives. Passion primitive and relentless is shown in strong contrast to the overpowering greed of civilisation.
