ORPHANS’ CLUB EVENING

FUNCTION AT DEVONPORT Following the opening of the new wharf at Devonport on Saturday afternoon, the Devonport Orphans’ Club held a “Borough Council night,” Mr. E. Aldridge, Mayor, presiding. The Onehunga Club was represented. Concert items were given by Messrs. W. Farrow, S. Langridge, B. Rutledge, Norman Tate. J. Bree. R. Yates and Master J. McGregor. Overtures were played by the club band, conducted by Mr. D’Authreau. Mr. J. Gibbous, vice-president, will be chairman at the next club meeting.
