SYDNEY MAIL SERVICE IS BACK TO NORMAL
ULIMAROA RESUMES RUN The mail service between Xew Z« - land and Australia was brought back to normal by the departure of the Huo-daxt-Parker steamer Ulirn.tr Sydney for Auckland yesterday. The Ulimaroa had been laid up t Sydney for four months owing to i strike of cooks and stewards. Sue reached Sydney from Auckland on !'• > - ruary 28 and was to have been di - patched for Wellington on Marcn Owing to the demand of the Cooks a ! Stewards’ Union for extra cooks f«*r the Ulimaroa not having been complied with, the men declared ,i stria** on sailing day and the 200 passengers on board had to return to the shoi . The strike afterwards spread t<> nea all the inter-State steamers in Australia.
