UNDER REFORM FLAG

WELLINGTON CITY SEATS CANDIDATES DISCUSSED Press Association. WELLINGTON, Friday It is understood that Mr. Dimtet Sloane, who contested the Wellingio: Central seat at the last general ele tion, has signified his willingness to stand again for the electorate in th. Reform interests. Strong representations have bee: made to Mr. Martin Luckie to contest the Wellington South seat in the h terests of the Reform Party. It it understood that Mr. Luckie has indicated that he is prepared to consider the request favourably, and he will give a definite answer to a deputa'io: of supporters to-morrow'. It has been stated outside Weliiirton that there is colour for the belief that Sir John Luke, the present m?rber for Wellington North, whose elec torate was largely affected by the changes made by the Boundaries Cosmission last year, will not be a cantdate at the coming general election and that he will be appointed to tin Legislative Council. Sir John declared definitely some weeks ago tin; he would contest his seat. He has long and faithfully sodported the Reform Part}', and there a no ground for believing that he vit not on this occasion again receive tb official backing of the party. The two other Wellington city seat', held by Reform, Wellington Suburb and W’ellington East, will be contesirou behalf of the Reform Party by : - sitting members, the Hon. R - Wright and Mr. T. Forsyth rest*tively. No Reform selection for Hu • has yet been made.
