PLUMS OUT OF SEASON
CROP AT HERNE BAY A Herne Bay resident walked into The Sun Office to-day with some ripe, full-grown Christmas plums grown on his property. “The trees had a wonderful crop at Christmas, and here they are with a large second crop, six months later, in winter,” said the grower. Auckland is not singular in this respect. At Waverley .recently second crops of pears and apples were an unusual sight—All the more unexpected, as the weather had been decidedly wintry.
