GREAT TRAIN SMASH

DISASTER IN SWEDEN NINE KILLED, MANY HURT ( United P.A. — By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian Press Association.) STOCKHOLM, Friday. A shocking disaster occurred to the night express at Bollnaes, 200 miles north of Stockholm. Owing to a wrong signal being given, the express dashed into a an auxiliary engine. The three front coaches of the express were derailed and set on fire. Both locomotives were smashed. Terrible confusion occurred in the darkness. Nine bodies were recovered from the wreckage. Thirty-five people, who are badly injured, have already been extricated, but it is feared the casualties are much heavier. The passengers probably included foreign tourists.
