MUNICIPAL BAND
AT ZOO TO-MORROW The Municipal Band will appear jj,t the Zoological Park to-morrow, Sunday, afternoon at 2.45. “Hungarian Comedy” overture, Berlioz’s “Damnation of Faust” and “Venezia” suite are included in a fine programme. A musical recital will also be given in the Town Hall in the evening at 8.30, when the programme will include the “Bohemian Girl” overture, an Oriental phantasy, “In a Chinese Temple Garden.” a national fantasia "Scotland’s Pride,” suite “In a Lover’s Garden,” a grand selection from “Lohengrin” and ! two charming Schumann numbers for reed instruments only. The winner of a large field of contestants in a Chicago beauty contest and recently signed by Universal for a long term contract, Joan Alden makes her featured debut in “Call of the Heart.” Miss Alden has shown such exceptional promise during the six months of her training in motion picture technique that she was given her first real chance to play the feminine lead in this picture, starring "Dynamite,’ ’the famous police dog.
