CAR STRIKES BUS
PANELLING RIPPED AND GLASS SPLINTERED A motor-car on its way from the city to Avondale crashed into a motor-bus about 6.30 on Thursday evening, smashing some of the glass and panelling. The car did not stop and disappeared in the darkness. The s9.r was travelling fast and failed to negotiate the corner near the Avondale Bowling Club’s greens. It would have plunged over the bank had not the bus been turning the corner on the inward journey at that moment. The car struck a glancing blow and continued on at the same speed. Although there were several passengers in the bus, no one was injured by the splintered glass or the broken woodwork. Two buses collided at this corner some time ago.
