Public notice is hereby given that the Mount Eden Borough Council in pursuance of its powers under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920“ and Amendments the “Rating Act. 1925“ and Amendments the “Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909“ the “Auckland and Suburban Drainage Act, 1905“ and all other powers thereunto enabling it in that behalf intends on MONDAY the 9th day of July 192 S to make and levy for the year which commenced April Ist 1928 and ends on March 31st 1929. 1. That the Special Rates struck and recurrent to provide the Interest and Sinking Fund on Water Loans No. 2 and No. 3, remain as struck, but that only an amount sufficient to meet requirements be collected as follows: For the No. 2 Water District, a rate of Id in the £. For the No. 3 Water District, a rate of lid in the £. On the Ratable Value of all ratable properties in the Valuation Roll in each of the said respective districts. A rebate of 2i per cent, will be allowed to every ratepayer upon all the above rates, provided the same are paid within thirty days of the due date thereof. The above-mentioned rates and the Non-Consumers Water Rate hereafter mentioned to be repayable in one sum on the Seventeenth Day of July, 1928, to the Collector appointed by the Borough Council at the Council Chambers, Valley Road, Mount Eden. WATER RATES. The said Council in pursuance of the powers enabling it in that behalf intends on Monday, the 9th day of July, 1928, to make and levy the following Water Rates in respect of ordinary supply for the year commencing July 1, 1928, and ending June 30, 1929:—Upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied but no meter has been installed for the measurement | of the quantity used the annual value of which lands and buildings as appearing in the Valuation Roll does not exceed I £l2 10s a rate of 10s, and exceeding £l2 10s then the rate of 5 per centum on such annual value plus 5s for each bath iin use on the premises, and 15s for each water closet in use on the premises. The said rate to be payable at the Council I Chambers, Valley Road, Mount Eden, in one sum on the Seventeenth day of July, 1928, to the collector appointed by the Council. Upon all lands and buildings (excluding the area transferred from Mount Roskill Road District (by Order in Council dated the 21st day of September, 1925) to which water is supplied by meter for ordinary supply, a rate equivalent to Is Sd (One Shilling and Eightpence) per thousand gallons used but such rate to be not less than £1 6s 8d per annum. Upon all lands and buildings in that portion of the district transferred from Mount Roskill Road District by Order in Council dated the 21st day of September, 1925, to which water is supplied by meter for ordinary supply, a rate equivalent to 2s (Two Shillings) per thousand gallons used, but such rate to be not less than £1 12s per annum. The above-mentioned minimum rates of £1 6s 8d and £1 12s respectively to be paid in advance and the balance of such rate at the time the meter is read to the Collector appointed by the Council at the Council Chambers, Valley Road, Mount Eden. NON-CONSUMERS’ RATE On all ratable properties to which water can be but is not supplied situate within 100 yards from any part of the Waterworks, a rate of one-half of the rates above-mentioned to be paid with the Consolidated Rate in one instalment, such rate being for the year ending September 30, 1928. The Estimates upon which the Rates above-mentioned are being struck having been approved by the Council are together with the Valuation, Roll, open for inspection at the Town Clerk’s Office during business, hours.
