A QUIET tone was registered on ’Change this morning. Many of the most popular shares were not even quoted.
In banks, Australasians are firm, Tvith sellers at £l4 16s 6d, supported by buyers at £l4 14s. New Zealands continue to meet with a strong demand, this morning's call closing with sellers at 59s 6d, supported by buyers at 595. In the shipping section HuddartParkers are sought on a market firm at sellers 48s 6d, buyers 48s. Timbers are quiet. Buyers for Kauris came in this morning, at 18s 6d. , j tors have improved slightly to see [ i buyers offering 32s 3d with no sellers quoting. Little movement registered in the market for most scrip in t this section. ; Mining continues with the market for most scrip depressed and idle.
