The Colonial Office announces that Sir Gilbert Clayton left London for Jeddah to-day, where he will meet Ibn Saud, King of the Hedjaz, and will discuss with him on behalf of the British Government various outstanding questions affecting the relations of the Kingdom of Hedjaz and Nejd with the neighbouring States or Iraq and Transjoraania. He will have with him Mr. Cornwallis, adviser to the Minister of the Interior of the Iraq Government, Mr, Antonius, of the Palestine service, and Flight-Lieutenant Moore, of the Royal Air Force. Before leaving London, Sir Gilbert Clayton had a personal interview with Sir Austen Chamberlain and Mr. L. S. Amery, Secretary of State for the Dominions.
