A Muddled Interest
A story is told of a country umpire who called “no hall ” as the howler stepped over the crease. “Wide, 1 * he added, as the hall appeared to he so. But the batsman reached out and struck the hall. “Well hit!** then shouted the umpire, and “well caught! 19 as a fieldsman brought off a catch. “Hout! Hover! 11 And he strolled, meditatively towards square leg.
