Ten Minute Drive to Hobson Point

WATERFRONT ROAD OPEN IN A FEW DAYS Interest in the coming sale of Orakei Estate sections will be quickened by the news that by next week, when the sale is to be held, motorists wishing to inspect the sections will be able to drive to the foot of the cliff at Hobson Point. JpROM Hobson Point a footpath, with steps, is being formed, and this will permit visitors to walk up the hill from the place where they leave their cars. Later a road will skirt Whnkatakataka Bay. to the south ol Hooson Point, and will join the road leading to the top of the hill, and so to Kohimarama. DEVELOPMENT OF THE ROAD The latest development, which has made quicker motor access possible, is the completion of temporary formation on the waterfront road. Though not built to its full width, the embankment carrying the road now sweeps all the way from Point Resolution to Hobson Point. Temporary bridges are being built, and when these are finished, in a few days’ time, the -road will be thrown open to the public. At present the road surface is unmetalled, but it is expected to permit the passage of cars in almost any weather. So short is the new route to Orakei that motorists will be able to cover it in comfort in 10 minutes.
