CHARGE OF PILFERING
WATERSIDER ON TRIAL ALLEGED THEFT FROM VESSEL Charges of stealing goods valued at £25, the propery tof the Shaw, Savill. and Albion Shipping Company, and with receiving the goods, were preferred against Edward James Euesden, a waterside worker, before Mr. Justice Reed in the Supreme Court this morning. Mr. Meredith, Crown Prosecutor, said that on September 4 last the Pakelia was at the Queen’s Wharf, and pilfering was reported. The police investigated. and found some goods in a lifeboat, but it was not until December, when certain information was received, that the detectives visited accused’s home. When he was charged ha said;. “I am caught; I am going to take my gruel. and l intend to plead guilty to the charge. ’ The accused sold some of the property to a witness who would be called, and also fold her that he had gone on to the ship and taken it from the hold of the vessel. (Proceeding.) •
