MAN LOSES ARM

ACCIDENT WITH ENGINE On Saturday Mr. F. Workman, the manager of the Whataroa Estate, while operating a farm engine, received serious injuries to his right arm, necessitating amputation. He was working the engine, which was recently installed, when one of the blades of the fan flew off:, striking his arm just above the elbow, cutting right through to the bone. The injured man was taken to the Hamilton Hospital yesterday morning, where it was found necessary to amputate the arm. His condition is fairly satisfactory.
