PORT DUNEDIN SAILS THURSDAY. —On Thursday the C. and D. Line motorship Port Dunedin leaves Wellington for London, via Panama. The vessel is_ at present completing her loading at Wellington.

KAIT AN GAT A FOR MELBOURNE*— The local office of the Union Company advises that the Kaitangata is sailing from Auckland at 11 o'clock this evening for Onak&ka, where she is to load for Melbourne.

KANNA SAILING.—To load for Auckland the Union Company's cargo steamer Kanna leaves here at 3 o’clock this afternoon for Noumea, thence Surprise Island and Walpole Island. On her way back to Auckland the Kanna will call at Noumea.

WAIOTAPU FROM PACIFIC COAST. —The local office of the Union Company advises that the cargo steamer Waiotapu from Pacific Coast ports, is due at Auckland on Saturday, and after discharge here, proceeds to Wellington, thence Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle to complete.

RIMUTAKA LEAVES WELLINGTON. —This morning the N.Z. Shipping Company’s liner Rimutaka left Wellington for . Opua and Auckland to complete her load- < ing for Home. The vessel is due here on Sunday next and is announced to sail finally from this port on February 2 for Southampton and London, via Panama. PIRI AT MOTUIHI.—The Nobel Explosive Company’s auxiliary schooner Firi arrived at the explosive anchorage at Motuihi this morning after a protracted voyage of three weeks from Melbourne. After discharging her cargo she will lighter explosives from the Middlesex, which is due at Auckland in a week’s time. AORANGI FROM VANCOUVER. —En route from Vancouver, via ports, the Union Company advises that the R.M.M.S. Aorangi is due at Suva at 1 p.m. on Thursday and leaves the same day for Auckland. The vessel is expected here on Sunday evening and is announced to sail from Auckland at S p.m. on Tuesday for Sydney. GALLIC’S MOVEMENTS.—Due at Wellington to-morrow from Lyttelton, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Gallic later proceeds to Napier, thence Gisborne and Auckland, to complete her loading. She is due here on February 1 and is scheduled to sail finally from this port on February 9 for New York, Halifax and West of England ports, via Panama. L. D. Nathan and Company will be the lopal loading a-gents. HORORATA SAILS. —Cargo operations on the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Hororata were completed last night. She was dispatched at daybreak this morning for New York, Halifax, and London. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the ves- , sel’s approximate discharging dates are; Colon, February 13; New York, February 23; Halifax, February 27; London, March 10. WESTMORELAND LEAVES LIVERPOOL. —The Federal Line steamer Westmoreland is reported to have sailed from Liverpool on Sunday with general merchandise from West of England ports for New Zealand. The cargo will be unloaded at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and New Plymouth. The New Zealand Shipping Company are the local agents, and the vessel is due here about February 28. THE NORTHUMBERLAND.—The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that the Federal Line steamer Northumberland is to leave New Plymouth on Saturday for Auckland, to continue loading for London, Avon mouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool. She is due next Monday. From Auckland the vessel will go to Napier and Wellington to complete loading. She is scheduled to clear Wellington on February 11. PULPIT POINT WITH OlL.—With a cargo of 10,00 tons of bulk oil from San Francisco, the Vacuum Oil Company’s tanker Pulpit Point arrived at Auckland at eight o’clock this morning, and berthed at Western Wharf shortly before ten o’clock to discharge her local cargo. The Pulpit Point was at Auckland last in September of last year, arriving at Auckland on September 21. She then proceeded to Sydney and Melbourne to complete before returning to San Francisco to load her present cargo. San Francisco was cleared on New Year’s Eve, * and the tanker has taken 23 days from port to port. She averaged 11 knots, which is half a knot slower than usual, owing to the heavy weather encountered for the last 10 days. Captain W. D. Owen is in command of the Pulpit Point, and associated with him are the following officers: Chief. Mr. F. B. Cromartie; second, Mr. T. S. Scott; third, Mr. R. W. Wright; wireless operator, Mr. W. Lawlar; chief engineer, Mr. W. Hunter; second, Mr. W. J. Chisholm; third, Mr. W. Brown; fourth Mr. J. Burns. The Pulpit Point carries a crew of 43 all told, the officers and engineers being Englishmen, and the remainder of the crew Chinese. At noon to-morrow the Pulpit Point is to be dispatched for Melbourne, via Wellington, to complete discharge. TOFU A IN PORT.—The Union Company’s Island steamer Tofua (Captain D. MacDonald) returned to Auckland yesterday at noon after a voyage to Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji. She berthed at Queen’s Wharf to land passengers and mail, also 22,500 cases of bananas, as well as other Island produce. Except for occasional tropical showers, fine wea- * ther was experienced at the Islands. On r the return trip from Suva to Auckland fresh south-east winds and rough head seas were encountered, and delayed the vessel’s arrival by about five hours. ARAWA FROM HOME.—With passengers, mails and cargo from West Coast ports of the United Kingdom, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer, Arawa, arrived in the stream at Auckland at 10 o’clock last evening and berthed this morning at Queen's Wharf to land her passengers, and discharge her mail and cargo. The vessel loaded at Glasgow, Avonmouth, and Liverpool and after embarking passengers at the lastnamed port, sailed finally from Home on December 13. For the first ten days, coming across the North Atlantic, rough seas and breezj' conditions were experienced. The Arawa arrived at Colon on December 28, and after coaling there entered the canal. Slight trouble was experienced in the engine room, and the vessel had to spend New Year’s Eve at Balboa. This suited the passengers, who spent the evening ashore, viewing the Panamanian festival. Fine weather was the order in the Pacific until January 19, when two days’ heavy seas were encountered. This weather did not delay the -vessel appreciably, and fine weather continued from then all the way to Auckland. The usual concerts, games and sports were held, and the crossing the line ceremony was held with all due and ancient form. List of passengers who arrived by the Arawa was published in these columns last Thursday. Captain "W. G.
