LATE MR. J. ARMITAGE
Mr. Joseph Armitage, of Gladstone Road, Parnell, who died on Saturday at the age of 84, was born in Huddersfield, England, and arrived in Auckland in 1883 with his wife in the illfated Triumph. Commencing in business as a plumber, he carried on in the trade until his retirement 14 years ago. One of the oldest members of Knox Church, Parnell, he was a very staunch churchman. He was well-known in Parnell, where he had lived since his arrival in the Dominion. His wife died nearly 30 years ago. Mr. Armitage is survived by two sons and three daughters, all of Auckland. •... ~ —• •
