BURNLEY TERRACE
CONCRETE OR BITUMEN? A motion by Cr. Morris, “That the resolution to provide cement concrete in Burnley Terrace be rescinded,” caused considerable discussion at the meeting of the Mount Eden Borough Council last evening. It was stated that part of the road had a natural rock surface. The engineer said tlv-t if concrete were put in there would have to be excavation, whereas there would have to be little or no excavation if bituminous concrete were put in. The motion was carried with one dissentient voice, and the tender of Isherwood and Bellam, of £ 2,914 ( for bituminous concrete was accepted.
