MAX, MORITZ AND AKKA

OPENING AT REGENT THURSDAY Those astounding, “almost humans,” Max, MorUz- and Akka, will open a season of one week at the New Regent on Thursday. The personal appearances an the stage of these chimpanzees has proved a positive sensation throughout Australia, where at the Melbourne Tivoli, they have just concluded a triumphant season of six weeks. They appear on the stage dressed just as human beings, sit at table, eat with knives and forks, drink and smoke, and will be seen on roller skates and bicycles. Other feats include boxing, dancing, laughing, talking in their own monkey talk, playing music, and doling a hundred and one things that ordinary mischievious children might do. They go through their whole performance perfectly naturally, loving what they do, enjoying themselves, without any fear of trainers, perfectly happy and contented. The monkeys will appear afternoons and evenings, and seats may be reserved in Royal lounge; dress circle and stalls for both matinee and evening performances. The management state that all plans are filling rapidly and advise patrons to reserve their seats early. The production of “The Pioneer Scout,” Fred Thomson’s next for Paramount, will commence shortly. Nora Lane, who appeared opposite Thomson in “Jesse James,” will again be his leading lady in “The Pioneer Scout.” Tom Wilson and William Courtright are featured in this picture, which is to be directed by Lloyd Ingraham and Alfred L.
