By Cable.- Press Association.- Copyright. LONDON, Monday.

The St. Briglt’s Military Hospital, Dublin, was the scene of a dramatic rescue. A wounded prisoner, James Nugent, was lying in bed in charge of an armed detective. Suddenly two armed men appeared In the ward and levelled revolvers at the head of the detective and ordered him to surrender his gun. The detective refused and one of the men fired, but missed: When the smoke had cleared away the men had fled. The bed was also empty. It is thought that Nugent, who was wearing pyjamas, had to climb a wall In order to escape.—A. and N.Z.
