Nella Billon was to pick the field up at the 12-furlong pegWhen the signal was given, Wrigley shot away, followed by Red Star, who soon tangled, while Lady Barrington danced a jig before deciding to embark on the journey. "When Wrigley reached the end of the opening halfmile, Nella Billon hopped in, and set the pace, Lady Barringtor being several lengths away. The latter put in a good dash, and was overhauling tbe front pan, when sne left her feet. At the end of 12 furlongs Wrigley showed signs of tiring, while Nella Billon st»L sailed aiong calmly in the van. Over the final stages the Hastings Cup candidate came with a fine burst of spe«c, and finished on terms with Nella B* l ' lon.
