OCTOGENARIANS MEET
HARDY OLD , ENGLISHMEN LONDON, December 27. Only one of 320 octogenarian guests entertained by Sir Henry Randall, the Northampton shoe manufacturer, had to be wheeled in a bath-chair. No fewer than 777 out of 90,000 people in Northampton were entitled to accept a similar invitation extended to nonagenarians. One of them, William Pilgrim, strode in without an overcoat, although snow lay cn the ground. Sir Henry, himself a nonagenarian, said that the secret of his fitness was that he was keeping a young heart, did plenty of hard work, cultivated a sense of humour, total abstinence and no smoking.
