REMUERA ARRIVES

MORE DECK AND CABIN SPACE AN EXTENSIVE REFIT Looking spick and span the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Remuera berthed at the Central Wharf this morning to complete loading for Home. She is to leave at three o’clock next Tuesday afternoon for Southampton and London via Panama. Passengers who have travelled before on this liner will now see a complete change in her structure. Another deck has been fitted, giving the vessel a most impressive appearance. Before alteration, the Remuera had lower, main, promenade and bridge decks. As well as giving further accommodation, the deck space now on the vessel is exceptionally large and adds further to the comfort of passengers on long trips. Eighteen single-berth cabins and two double-berth cabins have been fitted on the old bridge deck and are elaborately furnished. Every convenience has been fitted, and the cabins also have their own bathrooms attached. It can be said that the alterations made on the Remuera have made the ship one of the most modern in equipment of vessels trading from New Zealand to the Old Country.

Children who are lucky enough to travel on this liner have their own playroom, and on the old boat deck there is a specially-built sand-pit for them.
