PACIFIC CABLE BOARD.—It is understood that the only reason for the delay in the appointment of a new chairman of the Pacific Cable Board is that the approval of Canada of a nominee whose name has not been divulged is awaited. It is stated that it is not Mr. John Milward, formerly the board’s rr.nna.e-er in the Pacific.—A. and N.Z.
