YOUTHS PILLAGE CASE

MANY WALLETS STOLEN ACCUSED GIVEN CHANCE Three youths, aged 20, 18 and 16, who succumbed to a sudden acquisitive temptation, appeared at the Police Court to-day. They were charged with stealing a quantity of purses and handbags valued at £7 15s Bd, the property of Frank Wiseman. Chief-Detective Cummings said that accused were employed by a city firm, and a case belonging to another firm was left in the building. The young men pillaged the case, and goods valued at £4l 9s lOd were missing. Mr. Allan Moody, who appeared for one of the accused, said that the thefts appeared to be due to a foolish impulse. All the accused had good records, and he suggested that the case be adjourned for some months to enable accused to rehabilitate themselves. The magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, adjourned the case for three months, and ordered accused to make restitution. Their names were suppressed.
