MAN AND WIFE KILLED ON WAY TO FUNERAL

By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. NEW YORK, Sunday. A sad double tragedy occurred in Chicago, in strange circumstances. Two Italian fruit pedlars collided on a slippery road and each leaped from his truck in order to fight about it. A motor-car behind them crashed into their wrecked trucks, and the two aged occupants of the car were killed. They were later identified as Mr. John J. Mitchell, Chicago's wealthiest and most prominent banker, and his wife. The deceased had been hurrying to the funeral of a friend. They were carrying wreaths which their lifeless hands still grasped, when they were taken from the wreckage of their car.—Sun.
