BEACH COTTAGE BURNED

EARLY MORNING FIRE (From Our Own Correspondent) NEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday. A four-roomed cottage on the beach at Moturoa was almost totally destroyed by fire early this morning. The house was owned and occupied by Mr. H. Francis, an employee of the New Plymouth Harbour Board. The fire was practically out before the alarm was given by the night watchman at the wharves, so that when the brigade arrived it could do little. The occupants escaped in their night attire. Mrs. Francis was awakened by smoke, which filled her room.
