INFATUATED MAN’S CRIME FURS AND SILK STOCKINGS When John George Dunnett, aged 29 f lost his heart, he also lost his moral balance, and became a thief. IL.TE had an eye for beauty, and he liked to see his lady becomingly arrayed. At the Police Court to-day he pleaded guilty to charges of stealing silk stockings, a fur coat, jLimpers, and dress materials, valued at .C 43 17s, the property of Ross and Glendining. Chief-Detective Cummings said that seven offences were committed between August 15 and September 5. He was an immigrant, who arrived in New Zealand on May 7 of this year. On his way out he became infatuated with a wiman, and, having secured employment with Ross and Glendining, he stole the goods because he wanted to see her well-dressed. He was remanded until Monday for sentence.
