OPERETTA TO RAISE FUNDS A meeting of the Otahuhu School Committee was held on Tuesday night, Mr. Petrie, chairman, presiding. it was decided to stage Mrs. McFarlaneg operetta on October 20 ir« aid of tb« school funds, and to show in Pa pat o-:-toe and Ellerslie. It was agreed to request the Education Board to purchase a block of land behind the infants’ class-; oom as an additional playing area. The committee has been granted an option, pending the board’s decision. The board advised the allocation of £2M for the purpose of regrading and tarring the school grounds. An additional assistant-teacher ha recently been added to the staff. Tenders will be called next month for the building of an additional room on to the main building and renovation of the old part of the school is to be carried out during the vacation
