LATE MAJOR W. C. QUINNELL

Major Wilmott C. Quinnell, who has died in Wellington at the age of 66, was the second son of Brigade-Major R. J. Quinnell, one time of the British East India Company and the Punjab Medical Service. Born in England Major Quinnell was educated at Bishop Cotton’s School, Simla, India. In 1891 he qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London, and later went to Queensland as chief inspector of stock. In 1906 he came to New Zealand to join the veterinary division at Wellington, but later resigned and entered private practice. He served Ihn | ghout the Great War and suffered shell-shock. He resumed practice in Wellington in 1919. Major Quinnell is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter. A brother, Mr. C. F. Quinnell, lives in Auckland.
