ILLUMINATING FIGURES (Special to THE SUN.) HAMILTON, Friday. A glance through the statistics just published in the official calendar shows that horses trained in the Te Awamutu district again did well in the season just closed, and their total earnings compare more than favourably with winners from other parts of the South Auckland district. The winnings of horses accounting for £2OO or more are given, and for comparative purposes we give the compilation. in some cases a horse is credited to a centre, though the equine was not trained there all the season. .However, the placings are approximately correct. Twenty horses trained in Te Awamutu each accounting for over £2OO. the aggregate being the fine total of £22,682. Among the winning owners for the whole of New 7 Zealand Mr. R. Hannon, Cambridge, was sixteenth with £4,077 10s; Mr. G. Paul, Te Awamutu, twentyseventh with £2,855; Mr. D. Twohill, Thames, twenty-eighth with £2,825; and Mr. L. G. Hyde, Ngaruawahia, thirty-sixth with £2,354. The winning horses are as follow: To Awamutu.
