AUCKLAND RUGBY UNION MEETS

LAST NIGHTS’ BUSINESS At last night’s meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union, suggestions for the playing of matches in the Pollard Cup competition were submitted by the sub-committee appointed, and were approved. No matches are to be played on August 27. the date of the Hawke’s Bay-Auckland contest. A member stated that when two or three representative teams played on the same day it was difficult to find players who warranted inclusion. It was stated that through an error his insurance application was not registered, but if the player would insure without delay his claim would receive consideration. Complaints alleging the misuse of the AvQndale grounds were referred to the secretary for investigation. Notification of amended tramway fares to and from Eden Park was received from the Auckland Citv Council. The Thames Rugby Union forwarded a report on the Thames-Auckland match played at Thames last Saturday.
