FOUR BIG ATTRACTIONS

AT MAJESTIC TO-MORROW Variety is the keynote of to-morrow’s programme at the Majestic. The management has arranged for a supreme combination of the best in entertainment. There will not be a dull moment. The whole programme sparkles and moves with high speed to a grand finale. Lupino Lane, the king of laugh ter-makers, is the shining light in the two-reel comedy entitled “Drama de Luxe.” The brilliant British comedian is marvellous in this hilarious farce. He arouses laughter and thrills for half an hour without stopping. That New Zealand is making progress with cinematography photography is proved in the excellent scenic entitled “Windy Wellington.” This film takes the audience on a comfortable tour among Wellington’s busy streets with plenty of time to stop and admire the fine buildings and beauty spots. A treat is in store for all Majestic patrons and musiclovers to-morrow when the Majestic’s new orchestra, under the direction of Mr. John Whiteford-Waugh, will offer a magnificent musical medley from the stage. A spectacular background will add to the artistic enjoyment of this innovation. Just imagine your 25 popular tunes played as only the Majestic’s new orchestra can play. In connection with this a competition will be held with a prize of £1 Is to be paid to the person who can send in the names of the airs. The latest Topical Budgets and Eve’s Reviews are, of course, included in the supporting programme. Heading the bill is this year’s laughter sensation. “Tin Hats.” Claire Windsor, one of the screen’s most beautiful blondes, who comes to the Majestic Theatre to-morrow in “Tin Hats,” a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer production, was originally trained to be a singer and had a very lovely soprano voice. Unfortunately, she lost it when she contracted a bad cold. Miss Windsor then tried her luck in the movies, and got work the first day she applied at a studio. She was soon playing leading roles. For some time she has been under contract to Metro-Goldwvn-Mayer, and has appeared In “The Denial.” “The Dixie Handicap.” “The White Desert” and other of their productions. Playing opposite Miss Windsor in “Tin Hats” is Conrad Nagel. This popular star studied oratory at the Dps Moines College. After a brief stage career, he went into pictures where he found his true metier. Nagel is one of the screen's most popular leading men. and is under contract to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Tn “So This Ts Marriage,” and “The Waning Sex.” he showed a decided flair for comedy roles.
