When the police broke into a house at Roseville, near Mount Gambier, they found the dead body of Myra Francis, aged 20, lying on a bed, with her throat cut. Her husband, William Henry Francis, 24, was lying on the floor with his throat gashed and both wrists cut. He was sent to hospital in a critical condition.
