Paying Lighting Accounts. —The office of the New Lynn Town Board will now be used for payment of accounts due to the Waitemata Power Board.

Football Train. —The Railway Department advertises in this issue alteration to the Frankton-Paeroa afternoon train on Saturday next on the occasion of the Morrinsville-ITamilton “Peace Cup” football match at Hamilton.

Late Mrs. Margaret Kay.—Mrs. Margaret Kay, of Mount Albert Road, died on Monday at the age of 85. Mrs. Kay was educated by the Sisters of Mercy during Bishop Pompallier’s episcopacy. She married the late Mr. Roger Kay in 1860, and is survived by 11 children.

Waterside Worker Injures Knee.—A waterside worker, Mr. J. G. Chapman, of 52 Mount Eden Road, was struck by a case which was being unloaded from the steamer Waimea at Prince’s Wharf yesterday, and sustained an injury to his knee. He was takeh to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John Ambulance, but was able to proceed home after examination.

War Memorial Site.—The Wellington War Memorial Committee has been advised by the Prime Minister that the Government has no objection to the memorial to men of the Wellington district who fell in the war being erected on the triangular plot in front of Parliament grounds, provided the design of the memorial conforms to the general surroundings.—Press Assn.

Union of Dairy Factory Workers.— As the result of a conference at Wellington during the past few days, steps may be taken to register as an industrial union 3,000 cheese and butter factory assistants throughout the Dominion. The desirability of a single award for New Zealand is affirmed in place of ‘the existing awards for separate districts. —Press Association.
