KING GEORGE WINNER LOGANWOOD’S BRILLIANCY CONSISTENT PERFORMER Loganwood, winner of the principal event on the Addington card to-day, is in aged gelding by Logan Pointer, from Myrtlewood, a mare that many vears ago raced with success on the West Coast of the South Island. He is the property of Mr. G. W. Dransfield, who bred him, and for whom he has proved a valuable stakepamer during the last four seasons. Each year the game and consistent pacer has collected over four figures in prize money for his genial owner. The son of Logan Pointer is one of the useful type, and is at home either over a sprint or long-distance course. His previous important two-mile ventures in which he has been successful were# the Greymouth Cup (1922), Metropolitan Easter Handicap (1926) and Dunedin Cup (1927). Prior to his qperitorious performance to-day, Dransfield’s pacer had a placed record of 4.28 2-5, which by virtue of the conditions of the New Zealand Cup, made him eligible. In tramping the two miles this afternoon in 4.27 2-5 the Logan Pointer pacer has placed himself well in the Cup field. This is his second victory at the present fixture, having won the speedy mile brilliantly on Saturday in 2.9 3-5. ABAYDOS.

NO “RINGING-IN” TROTTING IN DOMINION RUMOURS DISPELLED Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. “I am pleased to say that there have been no recent cases in New Zealand of fraudulent practices such as occurred some years ago. There w*as no foundation for the circulation of reports of cases of alleged ‘ringingin,’ ” stated the president of the Board of the New Zealand Trotting Association, Mr. J. 11. Williams, in his report to the annual meeting last evening. The report said that there still appeared to be present in the minds of some people a fear of a recurrence of what was termed “ringing-in.” It was due mainly to that feeling that several reports were circulated in the past season, all of which had been fully inquired into. “For the most part this entailed much inquiry and expense,” continued the report. “It is pleasing to dnd that there was no foundation for the circulation of the reports.” ELLERSLIE JOTTINGS GALA DAY AND ETON TOWN OUT After galloping at half pace on the this morning at Ellerslie, Gala ~r a y Pulled up very lame, and is a doubtful starter at the Pakuranga Hunt meeting.
