DAINTY BREAKFAST NOOK

In most homes and flats being built nowadays, there is a little breakfast nook off the kitchen. Here is one of these dainty nooks, copied from a Rose Bay flat. The woodwork is ivory-toned, as are the pretty sheer curtains, hung in an unusual way. The wail is covered with fresh-look-ing paper, on which rosy apples and green leaves sprawl over a creamy background. On either side of the sunny window

are shelves, holding colourful cups and saucers, cream jug and sugar-bowl, and other little odds and ends. The apple-and-leaf tones of the wall are repeated in the seat-cushions, making a dainty little corner for the morning meal.
