MAJESTIC
GREAT COMEDY WEEK Comedy is the keynote of the fine programme to be screened at the Majestic to-mororw. This comes as a delightful change after the week of “The Scarlet Letter,” which was a purely emotional drama. A supporting programme of excellent short features has been arranged. Heading these is the latest Lupino Lane comedy, which is pure unadulterated farce from beginning to end. The Lupino Lane comedies have been one of the most popular features in the Majestic programme, and his latest is one of his best. Lupino Lane belongs to the world-famous British family of comedians, and his comedies are not mere slap-stick, but clever farce and characterisation. Of great interest in the topical picture is the Wellington v. Canada Soccer match. This is a fine film of the great game, and will appeal to all sportsmen and Soccer enthusiasts. A New Zealand scenic, Eve’s- Review, and the latest topical budget completes the pictorial supports. On the stage. Mile. Valeska has arranged an enchanting dance fantasy, entitled “Pan Through the Seasons,” in which she herself will appear. The Majestic’s new orchestra has another fine programme to offer. The overture will be “Raymond.” and prologue to “Pagliacci” will be featured during the scenic, and Binding’s “Rustle of Spring” will be another outstanding item. Mr. Wliiteford-Waugh, the new musical director, lias endeavoured to make his musical programme of a light sparkling nature, to fit the require?? ments of a comedy programme. The chief feature of the evening is the great Metro-Goldwyn comedy-drama “Tell It to the Marines,” in which a whole constellation of stars appears. There is Lon Chaney, Eleanor Boardman. William Haines, Carmel Myers, and our old friends the American Fleet.
