TAKAPUNA TRAM LIABILITIES

POWER BOARD VIEWS THE position of the Waitemata A Power Board, in relation to the liabilities of the old Takapuna Tramway Company was ventilated at the Power Board meeting today. Air. A. St. Clair Brown forwarded a cheque for £589 6s 13 d, as the amount of his liability under his guarantee. All*. S. E. Kennings considered that the board should take some action to secure the amount owing by the Tramway Board, including payment for the work done, and darpages for loss of revenue during the next 40 years, during which the Tramway Company was to have taken power. Air. G. Trevethick said he was not going to be a party to hounding the defunct company down to the last cent. A proper claim should be made, but they must not claim something that would look ridiculous before the court. There was no loss of profits. If trolley-cars were put on no money would be lost. The board then went into committee on the subject.
